I. Database and web application dealing with specialists, Projects/Programmes
and Institutions/Organizations in the field of biodiversity
This software consists of three parts:
1. Specialists in the field of Biodiversity
The web application, servicing the specialists` section in the field
of biodiversity, provides the following services:
À) Search for specialists. It provides a possibility of searching by:
- First name, surname or both
- Field of biodiversity
- Institutions/organizations they work in

B) Creating a specialist`s CV (the form is in
bulgarian language only)
Each specialist in the field of Biodiversity can publish his CV by
a special form. It is accessible in the portal web site specialists`
section.

C) Changing a specialist`s CV (the form is in
bulgarian language only)
Each specialist in the field of Biodiversity can edit his already published
CV by a special form. For that purpose he inputs the username and password,
he used to input his CV at first (or got them by the site administrator).

2. Institutions and organizations in the field
of Biodiversity
Services:
À) Search. It provides the following search forms:
- Simple search forms by name. This part of the web application enables
you to search information about an institution or organization by inputting
a name or a keyword/phrase.

3. Programmes and projects
Services:
À) Searching programmes and projects by executors. It provides the
following search forms:
- Searching by executing organization. This part of the web application
enables you to search information about the programmes and projects
in the field of Biodiversity by choosing a project executor.
- Simple search forms. This part of the web application enables you
to search by keyword/phrase.

B) Searching programmes and projects by subjects. It provides the following
search forms:
- Searching by field of Biodiversity. This part of the web application
enables you to search information about the programmes and projects
by choosing a concrete field of Biodiversity.
- Simple search form. The search here is by keyword/phrase.

C) Searching programmes and projects by financing
- Searching by financing organization. This form provides a possibility
of searching projects and programmes by the financing organization.
- Simple search form. This part of the web application enables you
to search by keyword/phrase.

II. Data base and web application dealing with books, articles,
periodicals, reports, volume editions, book series, publications and
ÑD editions in the field of Biodiversity.
Services:
À) Creation of digital libraries.
Each organization/institution can create its own digital library in
the common digital library of the portal CHM web site. Technically,
the Bulgarian portal CHM web site administrator does this by creating
usernames and passwords called after the organization/institution name.
Each digital library of the appropriate organization/institution forms
the portal CHM site common library where information can be searched
for with the methods described below. The data fund extends by adding
new digital libraries of institutions and organizations to the common
library. It is a good way of gathering and providing information, connected
with books, articles, periodicals, volume editions, book series, publications
and CD editions in the field of Biodiversity for the Bulgarian and world`s
audience.
B) Search
- Simple search form. This part of the web application enables you
to search information about books, articles, periodicals, reports, volume
editions, book series, and publications and ÑD editions. The keyword
or the phrase you are interested in is input into the first window.
With the help of the drop menu you can choose in which base part to
do the searching.
- Searching publications by fields of Biodiversity
- Searching by years. Here you can search for books, articles, periodicals,
volume editions, book series, publications and ÑD editions, published
within a period previously appointed. The form enables you to choose
the initial and the last year, defining the period, as well as the category
you want to search in.

Each organization/institution can display the forms described above
on its web site. Searching can be done only within the framework of
the data dealing with books, articles, periodicals, volume editions,
book series, publications and CD editions input by the organization/institution
itself. Thus each digital library is independent at the same time and
can contribute to organize its own information.
III. Data base and Web application dealing with the State Forestry
Board, the Regional Forestry Boards, the State Forestries (SF) and the
State Game Breeding Stations (SGBS).
This programme product edits and provides information about: a category,
a name, a position, general information, a location, a geographical
position, relief, hydrological conditions, climate, geological texture,
soils, vegetation, a characteristic of forest fund, the sanitary condition
of the forest, extra uses, medicinal plants, species of the Red Data
Book, hunting and fishing, protected territories and contacts for each
RFB, SF and SGBS in Bulgaria.

À) The web application public part consists of data base search forms:
- Simple form with a drop menu for displaying information dealing with
the Regional Forestry Boards (RFB).
- Complicated combination of drop menus used for displaying the information
dealing with the State Forestries (SF).
- Complicated combination of drop menus used for displaying the information
dealing with the Game Breeding Stations.
- Simple search form

The web application provides a possibility of publishing maps of the
appropriate territories.
IV. Data base and Web application dealing with the Protected
territories of Republic of Bulgaria.
This programme product edits and provides information about: the category
of the protected territory, the name of the protected territory, old
names, a date of proclamation, an aim of proclamation, a number of order
and an official gazette, measured area, the Regional Inspection of Environment
and Water, international agreements, stating a certain status of a protected
territory, regime, a position, administration and a characteristic for
each protected territory in Bulgaria.
Additional information concerning natural parks is edited and provided.
This includes: a position, general information, a location, a geographical
position, relief, hydrological conditions, climate, geological texture,
soils, vegetation, a characteristic of the forest fund, the sanitary
condition of the forest, extra uses, medicinal plants, species from
the Red Data Book, hunting and fishing etc.

À) The web application public part consists of data base search forms.
- Searching by choosing the first letter from the name of a given protected
territory.
- Form providing complicated base searching. It provides a possibility
of searching by: category, name, international agreements, date of proclamation,

- Form providing searching by categories

The web application gives a possibility of publishing maps of the appropriate
territories.
